Xavier Veilhan – Updates

There are a number of very interesting updates on the website of super talented sculptor Xavier Veilhan. One such update is a giant version of his work titled Sophie, which was created for the restaurant Le Germain. The work is so large to the extent that it exists on two floors of the building. Very impressive.

Reuben Margolin

Reuben Margolin is a Bay Area visionary and longtime maker, who creates totally singular techno-kinetic wave sculptures. Using everything from wood to cardboard to found and salvaged objects, Reuben’s artwork is diverse, with sculptures ranging from tiny to looming, and the motorised to the hand-cranked.

There is a great insight in to the life and works of Reuben in an interview by Make, which you can view below.

Antony Gormley

I love the stunning sculpture work of Antony Gormley.  The lone figure found above is a statue which stands on the skyline of the National Theatre. This is one of 31 similar statues and is part of one of the largest ever urban public art commissions. ‘Event Horizon’ features sculptural casts of the artist’s body on rooftops and public walkways across central London, dramatically transforming the city skyline.

Ron Mueck

I was lucky enough to see an exhibition by Ron Mueck when the tour hit Edinburgh. It’s an experience to behold. Unbelievable work.

Bill Durgin

The surreal photography, come sculpture created by Bill Durgin, messes with your head.

Gwon Osang

The amazing paper sculptures from Gwon Osang. His art is created by taking hundreds of pictures of every part of the body and then recreating them in to the form you see above.
