Our friends at Field have recently created 10.000 unique digital paintings for G. F. Smith. Printed on an HP Indigo 7500 digital press on ‘naturalis smooth’ absolute white and sapphire coated 330gsm paper, these works are a stunning application of generative art.

Universal Everything x CHANEL

CHANEL invited Universal Everything to create a series of video artworks, in response to the 5 codes of Mademoiselle Chanel; Black & White / Pearls / Diamond Padding / Camellia / Art Deco.

The beautiful minimalist films were created to be adaptable to different display formats, from low-pixel building facades in Hong Kong and Tokyo, to retail LED walls in Shanghai and Los Angeles.

Topologies

Quayola is a visual artist based in London. His work simultaneously focuses on multiple forms exploring the space between video, audio, photography, installation, live performance and print. He creates worlds where real substance, such as natural or architectural matter, constantly mutates into ephemeral objects, enabling the real and the artificial to coexist harmoniously. Integrating computer-generated material with recorded sources, he explores the ambiguity of realism in the digital realm.

Ariel

Our friends at Field have just created a digital dance performance exploring the eternal struggle of good and evil, for Stateless‘ latest single Ariel, which is soon to be released on Ninja Tune.
FIELD animated the two opponent characters of the song as surreal human figures, drawing dynamic sculptures into space. They collaborated with professional dancer Dominic North to record an impromptu interpretation of the song in a motion capture studio. There is a really interesting ‘making of’ video which can be found here.
The work was commissioned by Oscar&Ewan.

No Place Else

No Place Else‘ is a new exciting exhibition featuring illustrators Mark Wigan, Simon Wild, Matthew Dent, Jason Devine, Alex Godwin, and Ryan Chapman. If you would like to take a peek, the show is taking place at LCB Store at 121, Bethnal Green Rd in London on Thursday 12th August at 8pm.

Thanks for the pimpin’ Matt.

Muse

Muse is an wonderful experimental video by Field that touches on the controversial nature of the internets sharing culture. By using other people’s work in the film they acknowledge the impact of referencing and mimicking on the creative process, while originality, authorship, and crediting remain sensitive topics in a world where images spread like Chinese whispers.

Artists’ sketch- and notebooks have often been searched for insight into the process of inspiration. In a digital age, amidst masses of stunning imagery found online every day, the challenge for creatives is not only to filter and reflect this input, but also to develop a raison d’être, relevance and impact for any new images brought into the world.

The film was commissioned by Netfilmmakers Gallery and the soundtrack was created by David Kamp.

New Author

bryony

It’s 2010 and Human Resources™ is starting to develop a more feminine side. We are really happy to be introducing Bryony Lloyd, our latest author. Since graduating with a degree in Illustration from the University of Brighton, and mucking around in New York for a bit, she has been working as a freelance illustrator in London.

Bryony cherishes all things nostalgic and tries to project this in her collage work, taking reference from old books, films and people that she admires (or is obsessed with). She wont admit it herself, but she also has her own eclectic blog of interesting books and people, that has been high on our blog radar for some time now. Well worth checking out.
